- Why
should I work with Tin Can Studios?
-
I have years of experience in print design and website design,
and know how to build your project to meet the current media standards.
You can count on me to know what will and won’t work to ensure that
your business will not just have a nice website or product, but
have a beautiful, beneficial product that will help you grow. I
also know how to make your website run smoothly, using special techniques
that ensure fast web page load times without sacrificing image and
graphic quality. My design and coding is also up to the current
W3C standards as seen by clicking the links below.

In addition, I am a firm believer in direct communication. I don't
outsource my design work. When we discuss your project, you will
be talking with the person who is actually working on your project
whether it be design, coding, or publishing. This allows for direct
feedback and quality discussion about the possibilities for your
project.
- I
am interested in having Tin Can Studios work on my project. What do
I need to do?
-
You simply need to contact me by phone at 714.328.9612, or by using
the contact form to the right. I'll get back to you as soon as possible
with more information on the next steps to get your project started.
- What
should I expect while working with Tin Can Studios?
-
I have a very effective and time-saving design process, that ensures
that the client's vision is realized. First I talk with you so I
understand your business and goals. Next I create original design
concepts based on your input. I will send you my concepts for you
to approve, and if revisions are necessary, I'll take my design
back to the drawing board, and come up with a new idea based on
your new feedback. This process will be repeated until you are completely
satisfied with the design.
If we are working on a logo, you will then get your final logo
in the most common file formats (.eps, .tiff, and .pdf) which you
can use for any type of reproduction.
If we are working on a website, I will then format the site into
xHTML and CSS, and send you a test link once the site is ready.
If approved, I launch the site, sharing your message with the world.
If we are working on print material, I submit the files for production,
and contact you when they are ready.
- What
is the turnaround time on a website?
-
My turnaround is generally two weeks for a standard 4-6 page website
to be fully functional and published on the web. This time can sway
a few days either way on the speed of feedback I receive from my
clients. If you are the type of person who responds to emails promptly,
your project will be completed sooner. I can provide a layout proposal
within a few days of receiving the "go-ahead" on a website.
The formatting into xHTML and CSS takes a couple days, and the cross-browser
testing can take a couple of more days (curse you Internet Explorer).
After that, I send you a test link so you can see the site as it
will be displayed on the net. Once approved, launching the site
onto the net takes minutes. The site will be live as I submit the
URL to all the major search engines.
- Do
I need to be in Los Angeles to work with Tin Can Studios?
-
No, you do not have to be in Los Angeles to work with me. I can
upload website designs to any server that you have access to from
my location, no matter where my clients are in the world.
If we are working on print design or graphic design, I can send
you digital, print-ready files that you can take to your own printer,
or let me produce the materials, and I will ship them directly to
you. I have worked with clients in San Diego, San Francisco, Portland,
Chicago, and Arizona, just to name a few. In this age of digital
communication, geographic distance is not an issue.
- How much does a website cost?
-
Websites can vary in complexity and pricing depends on the size of the
site, and the site's functionality. To be honest, I will probably
not be the lowest bid you receive. If you just
want to get your site out the door for the lowest price without
regard for quality, you should probably look elsewhere. I am passionate
about creating the best solution and I take the time to do things
the right way. If you can appreciate the value of custom thoughtful
website design, hopefully we can work together.
A custom small to medium sized business website with somewhere between 4 - 6 pages, and page titles
along the lines of "Home," "About Us," "Services,"
and "Contact," will start around $1,000. For added features
such as a CMS (content management system), eCommerce, message boards,
or secure login areas, the price will be higher. I encourage you
to use my convenient Request A Website
Design Quote page to receive an accurate quote.
- How much does a logo cost?
-
I charge $300 per logo. The design process is outlined previously in this FAQ page.
- How much does a business card design cost?
-
I charge $150 for a front / back design. The design process is very similar to the logo design process, where I send proofs for the client to view and approve before they are sent off for production.
- How much does a postcard design cost?
-
I charge $250 for a front / back postcard design. These can be used as promotional postcards, save the date postcards, invitations etc. The back of the design meets the standard USPS design requirements so you can drop them in the mail and be certain that the post office will not have any issues mailing the postcard to the desired destination.
- How much does a business card printing cost?
-
I charge $125 for a quantity of (1,000) full-color, double-sided
cards. You can choose between glossy or matte finish, and the cards
are printed on a heavy 16pt card stock.
- How about pricing on my other marketing materials like banners, signs, fliers, etc...
-
Pricing on these is given on a case by case scenario, as products
like these vary so much in their size, materials, and turnaround
times. If you are interested in receiving a more information on
a project like this, please call 714.328.9612, and I will happily
provide you with a quote.
